BOAT STORAGE – VANCOUVER ISLAND

We have space in the boatyard for dry boat storage each winter with special rates:

Minimum of 3 months
Payable in full for entire storage period on haul out
Monthly rate is not pro rated

Call us to obtain your quote. Our prices per month depend upon the size of your boat. Please check our rates pages for more detailed information (see bottom of the page). You have the option of simply bringing your boat to us and we will haul and store it for you, or you can opt for our guardiannage programme and we will both store the boat and ensure that it is taken care of throughout the winter. This is beneficial if you live outside the Nanaimo area.

The advantages of storing your boat ashore in Stones Boatyard during the winter include:

you are free to visit or work on your boat virtually anytime you choose when the yard is open
you can inspect the boat from the warmth of your car!
fibreglass boats stored on land have a chance to dry out, and for this reason develop fewer osmotic blisters (due to water getting into the laminate) compared to boats stored in the water. Blister repairs can be costly, so storing your boat out of the water may be a good choice.

it’s safer than leaving your boat in the water where storm surge may cause damage

Be the first on your dock to sign up – we usually start taking winter storage bookings in July and August. This doesn’t mean you have to be the first one out of the water, but prompt action gives you the opportunity to select the exact date you want your boat hauled.
