Nanaimo Boat Yacht Testimonials | Yacht Repairs & Boat Cleaning | BC

“I hit a rock in my 47 Bayliner going through False Passage in the summer of 2016, damaging my bow and both props. We were taking on water and the bilge pumps were not keeping up. I called the Coast Guard, and they arrived quickly and very professionally escorted me to Nanaimo, they had also called ahead to Stones Boatyard. When we got there the lift was ready and a crew standing by to assist getting the boat lifted out the water. It was a very stressful time for my wife and I. The staff at the boatyard were very helpful in getting us transportation and overnight accommodations. They were very professional assisting in notifying insurance, and preparing an initial repair estimate. We then returned to Seattle, and communications during the repair period were detailed and fair. I felt confident that high quality work was being done.We returned to Naniamo to pick up our boat after being notified the repairs were completed. It had been tested and cleaned. Weather was great and we headed for Friday Harbor. About four hours into the trip I noticed one engine using a bit more fuel, and went into the engine room. It was splashing fuel on the Port engine, so I shut it down. Turned out that the high pressure fuel line sprung a leak by the engine mount. So we spent an extra day in Friday Harbor, and had the fuel line replaced, and engine room cleaned up.Stones Boatyard generously agreed to cover the cost. I am very impressed with the professionalism of Stones Boatyard staff, and I will recommend them for minor or major work.Coincidently, one of our Yacht Club members hit a log in False Passage a little later and ended up at Stones Boatyard too. They also were very favorable about the service. Please feel free to call me 253-631-5473

We wanted to thank you for all the time effort you and your team invested in repainting Dragonsmoke’s hull.  The end result was definitely worth it.We appreciate that a respray in the winter months can pose a number of weather related problems and you probably encountered most of them with the string of low-pressure fronts and freezing weather we had in December and early January.  To deal with all the adverse conditions whilst respraying a 51-foot yacht and give such a fine mirror finish speaks volumes for your professionalism and high standards. We appreciated the level of communication about any weather related delays and suggestions about any other minor repairs that could be tackled whilst the yacht was hauled.  We were most impressed that you kept costs to us at the quoted amount. We have had so many comments on how good Dragonsmoke looks with the new Flag Blue Awlgrip finish. We would be happy to act as a reference for you should you require one.”

“I have used stones services for 4 years now, and I must say I am very pleased with the outcome and the level of service. If they make a mistake there is no cover up, and no charge.I used to think the marine store prices were high compared to independent but I have done a couple of comparisons and that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Thanks Stones Boatyard for your great service.”

“Going to stones boatyard was spectacularly pleasant the people there couldn’t be more accommodating.  Nick and the boys were so helpful to do what ever it took. I’ve never seen such a clean operation they were slick with a snap at their heels.   The bathrooms and laundry facilities were spotless the showers were sparkly clean and I can’t wait to go back.   There is a marine store that had everything you might need for your boat,  the prices were competitive and they actually knew what you needed. there is a couple pubs with amazing waitresses  to please the boater in every possible capacity .even a car at your disposal if required I’m very impressed!”
