Refunds and Returns Policy
We want all our customers to be satisfied with their purchases. Our aim is to make purchasing products as easy as possible so you can spend more time on the water. We understand from time to time a purchase may need to be exchanged or refunded. Our refunds and returns policy is intended to assist you with getting the right product for your boating experience.
If you purchased a product from The Marine Store@Stones Boatyard which has failed or is not working as specified within the manufacturer’s noted warranty period, you should contact us and provide proof of date of purchase in the form of a receipt. After confirming the failure and date of purchase, we will issue you a full refund for the cost of the purchase or exchange it for a new product (less shipping and restocking fees, if applicable).
You may return your purchase to us within 30 days of internet sales/14 business days of in-store sales, and we will refund the purchase price of the product (not including shipping charges), once the item is received by us.
If you return an item, it must be received within 30 days in new, unused and resalable condition. Each item must be in the original packaging with tags still attached. We will closely inspect all returned items prior to acceptance – scratched, damaged, worn, washed, or altered products will not be accepted. If an item is received in any of these conditions, we will contact you and it will be your responsibility to pay the return shipping to your address. We will only hold these items for you for 60 days and they will then be discarded at your expense.
Additional fees may apply if the return does not include the product’s original packaging. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping costs will be at your expense.
Exceptions:
- Any installed part or piece of equipment.
- Electronic parts, opened software, inflatable boats, books, charts, or anything that can be copied
- Special orders are non-returnable and non-refundable.
- Any cut or customized items such as electrical cable, rope, hose, flax packing, inflatable boat material, chain or wire rigging
- Items with expiration dates, products with a broken seal, or other customer-specific products, clearance items, discontinued goods, and gift certificates are not returnable.
- If these items are found to be damaged or defective, you must notify us within 10 days for resolution.

Refunds
- We will refund you with the original payment type, i.e. debit card, credit card, or cash for returns made within 30 days of purchase with a receipt (or proof of purchase).
- If you request a refund after 30 days of purchase with a receipt, your refund will be issued in the form of a store credit.
- If you request to return an item without a receipt/proof of purchase, there will be a 20% restocking fee and the refund will be issued in the form of a store credit.
- Your return must be sent by Canada Post, and we ask that you bear the cost for return shipping (unless the error was ours).
- Please be aware credit card companies vary in the time they post credits to an account and allow one to two billing cycles from when we issue a credit before it appears on your statement.
Shipping returns
- To return your product, you should mail your product to: Stones Boatyard Ltd, 104-1840 Stewart Ave., Nanaimo, B.C., V9S 4E6
- You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. As above if you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
- Depending on where you live, the time it may take for an exchanged product to reach you may vary.
- If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
