Welcome to Stones Boatyard and Nanaimo Yacht Services situated at the north end of the Newcastle Channel, Nanaimo, within Stones Marina and right next to the BC Ferries Terminal at Departure Bay on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

We are minutes from downtown Nanaimo and just a ‘Stones throw’ from the entire east coast of Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, Metro Vancouver, Victoria  and Washington State. We are delighted to welcome local boat owners, those from the Lower Mainland and cruising sailors from farther afield.

Stones Boatyard is a professional, clean and environmentally friendly do-it-yourself haulout and marine repair facility. We’re a full service boatyard with the biggest marine travelift on central Vancouver Island, BC, capable of lifting boats up to 83 US tons/75 Metric tonnes, 85 feet in length and a 20 foot beam. Boat owners are welcome to work on their own boats, utilize our boat repair services or employ outside contractors.

We haul hundreds of boats a year with our travelifts: two-way haul outs for boats being blocked in the yard, one-way haul outs for surveys or quick repairs below the waterline, and boat lifts on and off trucks and road trailers. We lift all types of boats: fibreglass, wood, steel, concrete and aluminum, from pleasure yachts to commercial tugs and fishing boats.

Nanaimo Yacht Services: our boat repair division marine mechanics and staff carry out repair work and maintenance on your boat or sailing yacht from one-off repair to ongoing care within our yard, Stones Marina or in other local marinas. The services we provide range from engine and transmission repair and maintenance, to fuel polishing, cleaning and detailing………. the list covers just about everything you could possibly need to maintain your boat.

We take great care of you, the  customer, and believe that as a marine services provider we should be no different to your best car or home repair service and “do it right the first time”.

We even provide a courtesy car for those who arrive by boat and need a vehicle to visit local Nanaimo suppliers and workshops.
